Runway jewelry

My friend Scott asked me to help him develop some jewelry for a Redken runway show in January and all of the pieces are definitely a departure from my norm.  He gave me pictures of looks he was interested in and some base metal chain he bought to get started...I think that was about six or seven months ago.  Once his wedding was over and the caking was behind me, I started to focus seriously on these pieces.

He didn't want a bunch of necklaces and earring sets; these were more hair and head with a military feel for models to wear while walking the runway.  We touched base a few times in between the first conversation and the delivery to make sure I was going in the right direction (he even gave me permission to use the Bedazzler--with restraint, of course--to pick up the details in the lights on the stage), but he is definitely someone who just gives me direction and lets me do my thing.  That's dreamy but scary...I didn't want to disappoint him.

I ended up with several pieces made with chain, leather and metal for him to take to his pitch meeting, and I'm hoping it went well.  We'll see if he needs me to rework these to make more based on the feedback from that trip. Here are a few of them--some were just not easy to photograph, even with the creepy head model I had.

Side trip: Mason jar lights

Gage and I made these solar lights for my Mom's birthday and took them to her last weekend.  My parents live out in the country and my Dad took them out to a tree and hung them up--I'm excited about how they turned out.

Maybe not so cool before the sun goes down...

But after dark, the lights are bright and the reflection from the designs on the jars is mesmerizing.

I think these would be perfect for an outdoor party...like a wedding reception in the country?
